Vertical Platform Lifts

Where a passenger lift is not feasible our vertical platform lifts are ideal for installation in public buildings. All of our vertical platform lifts are CE marked as evidence that they have been designed and installed in accordance with the Essential Safety Requirements of the European Machinery Directive and can be further enhanced to satisfy the specific requirements of the Building Regulations for the country within which they are to be installed. Since 1 October 2004, the Disability Discrimination Act has made it unlawful for service providers to prevent anybody from utilising their service due to physical features without offering a practicable solution.

In addition, the Building Regulations for the individual countries within the United Kingdom have during this time offered specific guidance on methods of ensuring access to public buildings.

Whilst we are able to offer vertical platform lift solutions to travel up to approximately 14 metres, it is important to ensure that the unit is the correct solution for the environment and application within which it is to be used. We would always recommend that our staff are involved at the earliest possible stage of conception as we can offer guidance on all forms of lifting solution. As the regulations state that the maximum speed of these lifts is not to exceed 0.15m/s it is important to recognise that a vertical platform lift can not to be used as a cheap option to a passenger lift.

The vertical platform lift market is ever changing with new harmonised European standards in advanced draft form and due for ratification in 2009.
