Worlds Tallest Skyscaper to Open 2009 14. 07. 2009
Dubai is set to become the home of the world’s largest skyscraper when the Burj (Dubai Tower) opens its doors before the end of 2009.
Its developers Emaar Properties are reluctant to put an actual date on the opening of the building but have confidently expressed a public opening by the end of the year.
The amazing construction will complete a further milestone for this incredible city which has undergone a complete transformation over the past 10 years. Standing at over 2600 feet (800 metres) the Burj is reported to have over 160 floors, although many details of the final specification are being kept a secret.
One thing is for sure, the Burj will encompass one of the worlds most sophisticated passenger lift systems and demonstrate once again the magnificence of modern engineering and the capabilities of the architects who devise these incredible constructions.
