The Sprint features light automation. It is a very suitable model for residential use, and where there are less able bodied users. The Sprint features two modes of operation. In the Push and Go mode, which is the standard mode supplied, a light touch or gentle push is all it takes to cause the door to swing open. The Low Energy mode. as the name suggests, uses less energy and also operates the door at a reduced speed.
A number of different systems can be employed to sense the presence of people for automated opening and closing, or for manual control. These include, infra-red active sensors, microwave sensors, safety photocells.
The doors can also be controlled manually by means of simple control buttons, whereby pressing the button opens the door, a key selector pad, whereby the user keys in a personally known code, or a contact sensor control, whereby the user introduces a codified card that can be read by the system to allow entry. The key selector pad and the contact sensor control are ideal solutions in situations where access is restricted to only those who have a need and who are authorised to pass through.
